Here are a few recipes that you can make at home for yummy safe treats for your dog,perfect for training or anytime!
Chunk Chicken and Sweet Potato Treats
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, mix 1 ¼ cups of small chunks of cooked chicken, ½ cup of pieces of cooked sweet potato, 2 cups all purpose whole wheat flour, 1 cup evaporated low fat milk, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp baking powder and 2 large eggs.
You can do all kinds of variations on this recipe—it’s perfect for using up leftovers. Save time by smushing it all into a pan and baking it like a casserole, then cutting it up as if it was a dish of mini brownies.
Cook, cool, cut up and freeze if necessary.
FISHFUDGE TRAINING TREATS
Recipe:
2, 6 ounce cans of Tuna Fish, including the water
1.5 cups of flour (whatever kind you like)
2 eggs
garlic
Blend together all at once. Smooth out on a cookie sheet about 1/3″ thick – use a silicone sheet to prevent sticking. Bake for 20 minutes at 350F.
